The twilight sun shone through the clouded skies one afternoon, casting off moving shadows upon the field of crimson roses below. The trees and natural flora to the area rustled softly as a soothing, constant wind would pass through, the wind being a very calm five miles per hour. Between the cloud coverage and soft breeze, it was the perfect weather conditions to off-set the ninety-five degree heat that pounded down from the heavens, made even worse by the high amount of humidity in the air. The area was smooth land, covered in a wonderful assortment of reds, blues and yellows thanks to the numerous amounts of flowers that blocked the grass below from view.
It was a small paradise of beauty deep within a North American forest, currently untouched by the country's industrialism but who knows how long that would last? Forming a perfect ring around this beautiful meadow would be a dense forest, mixed with all types of trees and various plant life. However, despite the peaceful and beautiful setting painted by mother nature, it was soon to be driven into chaos and destruction, because this wonderful site was the unlucky soon to be fighting grounds for two old friends who wished to test there fighting prowess against one another, after years of being apart.
From the edges of the darkened forest an evil force was shifting and snaking it's way through the dense cluster of trees. A dark shadow would soon burst forth from the trees and into the painted meadow, rolling over and through the flowers like a pitch black morning fog. The mist would flow like a stream following a current all the way to the center of the field before coming to a stop. All the shadow would slowly start to gather itself to the center, swirling and compiling itself into what looked like a pitch black cloud. However, it would stop and start to flow back with a gust of wind as quickly as it came, but it would leave something in it's place.
Standing where the mist like shadow had accumulated would be Tenkai Kaze Cross. He was a tall male standing in at 6'6" height and clad in what looked to be like a mix of cybernetics and samurai armor. However, this was just an illusion of sorts. As if to prove this point to the every prying eyes of nature it's self, the helmet upon Tenkai's head would turn pitch black then absorb itself into Tenkai's body, allowing his new face to come into view, his true face as he tended to call it. The skin of his face was smooth, not a single scar plagued it. His hair had unraveled itself and fallen down to the center of his back, his hair being as dark as the shadow his soul was made of.
Tenkai's eyes are as sharp as a hawk's and his soft blue irises tended to draw people of weaker hearts and minds into an enchanted if not uneasy state of calmness. However if one was to divert there gaze from his deceptively friendly face they would notice the five swords he seemed to carry around with him. Two of these Katana were on his right hip, the remaining three resting upon his back. However, these like his armor and appearance were also an illusion, weaved by Tenkai's shadow manipulation. It should not be surprising, really due to what Tenkai was. Tenkai was a demon of Shadow, or to be more exact an Arch-Demon. Shadow, illusion, deception, and power. These had become his very essence of being and shadow above all else was what Tenkai was made out of.
His eyes would start to scan the area, taking in the breath taking scenery that he had agreed to meet his friend, Jaden in. Although he was nothing more than a fallen Arch-Angel, he did still hold some respect for the wonderful world he stood in currently. He almost felt bad that such a wonderful place was soon to be engulfed in the fires of hell itself. This thought however left his mind as quickly as it came as Tenkai realized he should go ahead and prepare for his friends arrival. His right arm would move from it's relaxed position at his side, the palm of his right hand being wide open as one of the Katana's on his back melted into the black, mist-like shadow and flowed to the right palm.
Once all the shadow had gathered itself into his hand it would start to become solid and take the shape of a normal Katana, like a black outline drawing. At this point Tenkai would wrap his digits around what was supposed to be the hilt, griping upon the blade with the strength of a titan. At this point the shadows would scatter and reabsorb back into Tenkai's body, leaving behind what looked like a real weapon. The blade looked metallic and even shone as if freshly polished, the guard was gold and the hilt was wrapped in blue ray cord. This was one of the many things Tenkai had learned to do with his shadow over the years. The truth of the blade, is it was just shadow.
However, Tenkai can make shadow solid and into a weapon, he can also change the appearance of the shadow to whatever he wishes it to look like. Doing little tricks like this was as easy to him as breathing was to a human. With his weapon drawn, Tenkai would turn the blade of shadow upside down and drive it's blade into the dirt hidden under the beautiful flora, using it as a cane of sorts to lower himself to the ground, legs crossing as he awaited for Jaden to arrive. A slight smile would form to his cold, pale lips as he awaited his friend, his dead heart having a touch of light and life breathed into it as his baby blues wondered about this artistic landscape. It truly was a beautiful sight.
"Well, Jaden. How much longer you plan to keep me waiting..?" Tenkai asked, perhaps talking to nature itself. His voice was smooth and pleasant. He sounded almost as if he was at peace.
